The poem, Charvahon ki Pukar, by Rekha Sharma, Shalini Yadav, Sushma Pandey, Sonika Ahlawat, Reena Arora and NH Mohan, is an effort to highlight the importance of pastoralists, their knowledge and wisdom and also their contribution in conserving Indian livestock biodiversity, aligning with the United Nations’ declaration of 2026 as the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP). These women scientists are from the ICAR–National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources, GT Road By-Pass, Karnal, Haryana.
