Rangelands Governance, Mobility, Pastoralism. A multi-stakeholder approach: A Global Policy Dialogue under the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP) 2026.
The Global Policy Dialogue - Goals and Objectives
The International Land Coalition, together with the Government of Mongolia, the National Land Coalition Mongolia, and other partners convene a Global Policy Dialogue on Pastoralism and Rangelands. The dialogue will bring together stakeholders from Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East fostering cross-regional learning on inclusive, multistakeholder, and sustainable rangelands governance and management on climate action and resilient livelihoods, while strengthening political commitment to women and men pastoralists as custodians of rangelands, contributors to resilient food systems, and key actors in climate adaptation and biodiversity conservation. By consolidating an active exchange in a group of countries that are designing and implementing policies with pastoralists, the policy dialogue will also link with the global pastoralist gathering set for Mongolia in August 2026 and establish a linkage with UNCCD's COP 17.
