Hooves of Hope: Pastoralism as a Soil, Climate, and Livelihoods Solution

This webinar will achieve three goals: 1. Advance the understanding of pastoralism as essential for rangeland recovery, climate change mitigation, and equitable livelihoods over much of the Earth’s natural grassland and savanna areas. 2. Counter the narrative that pastoralism is just an archaic practice and hindrance in the modern era. 3. Present science on increased soil carbon and other beneficial biological indicators from improved grazing management. In addition to scientists, we will hear from pastoralists who are trying to save their cultures and be relevant contributors to growing meat markets around the world, and also from policymakers on how to preserve land tenure for pastoralist communities and reward them for ecological stewardship.
