Concept Note
In the second Global gathering of Pastoralist Women held in Kathmandu in May 2026 , pastoralist women representing over 38 countries came together and framed a declaration , The Declaration which built on the Mera Declaration of 2010 and several regional declarations called for Climate justice , Biodiversity , Peace . The women stated “without our land , our livestock and our livelihoods there is no pastoralism and without pastoralism there are no rangelands and no future.” We wish to share the stories of these amazing women with a larger group

The Movie Women of the Pastures made by ICIMOD along with the Gender Working Group during the Global gathering ,where several pastoralist women were interviewed will also be launched at the event
