We’re excited to invite you to the Spring 2026 Discovery Friday Seminar Series, featuring a unique collaboration between three century-old experimental ranges: Santa Rita, Jornada, and Sonora. Together, these stations represent over 300 years of rangeland research, stewardship, and innovation across the Southwest.
When: Last Friday of each month, January - April 2026, 10:00–11:00 AM (MST)
Where: In-person at the Florida Station Headquarters at the Santa Rita Experimental Range or join online via webinar.
Each month, a different station will showcase its history, research, and legacy:
- January 30: Santa Rita Experimental Range – Adaptive grazing, long-term monitoring, and desert rangeland innovations
- February 27: Jornada Experimental Range – A century of change in rangelands and innovations to manage them
- March 27: Sonora Station – 110 years of research and cross-border perspectives in rangeland stewardship
- April 24: IYRP Collaborative Seminar – Celebrating the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists and highlighting how these three stations advance global rangeland sustainability
This is a great opportunity to:
- Engage directly with leading rangeland researchers
- Learn practical insights for land management and stewardship
- Network with fellow students, ranchers, and conservation professionals
Whether in-person or online, each session promises insights, discussion, and connection across a century-spanning legacy of rangeland research.
