Segundo Encuentro de Sabanas: Paisaje de Horizonte
En el corazón de la sabana inundable, donde el tiempo lo marcan las lluvias y el
conocimiento se transmite entre generaciones, surge nuevamente un espacio para el
encuentro, la reflexión y la proyección del territorio: el Segundo Encuentro de Sabanas:
Paisaje de Horizonte.
Una iniciativa que nace de una convicción profunda:
Nadie entiende mejor la sabana que quienes la habitan. Ganaderos, vaqueros y propietarios
no solo son actores productivos, sino también guardianes de un ecosistema complejo y vital.
En 2026, este encuentro cobra un significado aún mayor al alinearse con tres hitos globales:
el Año Internacional de los Pastizales y los Pastores, el Año de la Mujer Rural y el Año del
Caballo Criollo. Este contexto posiciona al territorio y a sus habitantes como protagonistas
de una conversación Nacional sobre sostenibilidad, cultura y producción.
Un propósito que va más allá de una reunión
El propósito del encuentro va más allá de una reunión. Se trata de abrir un diálogo entre
pares, donde el conocimiento no se impone desde afuera, sino que nace de la experiencia
cotidiana en el campo. Es también una oportunidad para el fortalecimiento gremial,
consolidando al Colectivo Ganadero Cabresteros como un referente en prácticas sostenibles
y en la defensa del territorio.
Asimismo, el evento busca promover la integración de saberes, conectando la tradición
ganadera con la academia, la ciencia y nuevas formas de turismo, tanto recreativo como
científico. Esta articulación permite enriquecer la visión del paisaje y generar nuevas
oportunidades sin perder la esencia productiva. En el centro de todo está la protección del
legado cultural llanero, entendido no como un vestigio del pasado, sino como una guía viva
para construir el futuro.
Fecha y lugar
El encuentro se llevará a cabo los días 29, 30 y 31 de octubre de 2026, en Yopal,
Casanare, Colombia, en un espacio pensado para la convivencia, el aprendizaje y la
observación directa del paisaje.

Second Savannas Gathering: Landscape of the Horizon
In the heart of the flooded savanna, where time is measured by the rains and knowledge is
passed down through generations, a space for meeting, reflection, and envisioning the future
of the territory emerges once again: the Second Savannas Gathering: Landscape of the
Horizon.
This initiative is born from a deeply held conviction:
No one understands the savanna better than those who inhabit it. Ranchers, cowhands, and
landowners are not only productive actors, but also guardians of a complex and vital
ecosystem. In 2026, this gathering takes on even greater significance as it aligns with three
global milestones: the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists, the
International Year of the Woman Farmer, and the Year of the Criollo Horse. Together,
these milestones position the territory and its people at the center of a national conversation
on sustainability, culture, and production.
The purpose of this gathering goes beyond a meeting.
It seeks to open a dialogue among peers, where knowledge is not imposed from the outside,
but emerges from everyday experience in the field. It is also an opportunity to strengthen
collective organization, consolidating the Colectivo Ganadero Cabresteros as a reference
for sustainable practices and the defense of the territory.
The event also aims to promote the integration of knowledge, connecting ranching traditions
with academia, science, and new forms of tourism—both recreational and scientific. This
articulation enriches our understanding of the landscape and creates new opportunities
without losing its productive essence. At the core of everything is the protection of the
Llanero cultural legacy, understood not as a remnant of the past, but as a living guide for
building the future.
