This event is scheduled on 21st and 22nd March 2026 in Theni District, Tamil Nadu. It is designed to provide participants with a deep understanding of pastoral life, including interaction with pastoral communities, exposure to traditional food systems, and learning about indigenous cattle practices. Over the past one year, we have been consistently organizing pastoral tourism initiatives across Tamil Nadu. Through these efforts, we have been creating awareness and building a strong understanding among the public about:
- Pastoral lands and their ecological importance
- Rights of pastoral communities
- Traditional knowledge systems and cultural practices
These initiatives have significantly contributed to bridging the gap between pastoral communities and the wider society, while also highlighting the importance of sustainable rangeland management.
