This event—the XVI Encuentro de Ganaderos de Pastizales Naturales del Cono Sur—is organized under the Grassland Alliance (Alianza del Pastizal), a regional initiative led by BirdLife International and its Partners: Aves Argentinas, Aves Uruguay, Guyra Paraguay, and SAVE Brasil. The event brings together more than 300 participants, including ranchers, pastoralists, technicians, scientists, and conservationists from the four countries, as well as participants from the United States, Canada, Colombia, Bolivia, Mexico, and beyond.
The meeting will take place on June 19–20, 2026, in Sant’Ana do Livramento, Brazil, within the Pampa biome. The 2026 edition will be hosted in Brazil under the coordination of SAVE Brasil and will also mark the 20th anniversary of the Alianza del Pastizal, aligning closely with the objectives of IYRP 2026.
